If the Master Code is used to arm the system then the Installer Code can NOT disarm the system. Yes, all Xfinity security systems come with 24 hour professional monitoring. If an alarm triggers an event, the system will notify the police or other emergency services. Now, it would be nice if all you had to pay was $15 or $20 per month for home security and automation.
Unfortunately, that’s just the tip of the iceberg with Xfinity Home. Customers are also required to sign a two-year professional monitoring agreement. Add/delete/edit user codes remotely, and track which users arm/disarm the system at what times. For systems with multiple partitions, choose which partition each user code can access. Comcast has had a long reputation of less than stellar customer service.
Xfinity Home Security Pricing
Remotely manage and control garage doors via web or mobile apps. View garage door status, receive garage door alerts and close automatically when system is armed. Receive email/text message notifications for any type of alarm reported by the security system. Xfinity works with a variety of third-party devices to transform your house into a smart home. Options include LIFX smart lighting, Kwikset Smart Locks, Nest thermostats, and more. Request system images on-demand to be uploaded immediately or upon next motion detection.
Inexpensive Alarm.com Cellular Alarm Monitoring
New users can expect to pay between $40 and $70 per month for Xfinity Home Security without bundling. Thankfully, Xfinity offers ongoing deals and discounts. We’ve seen deals like the Xfinity Home Secure package going for $29.99 per month for the first 12 months with an increase to $39.95 per month for the remaining months. We’ve also heard of 50% off each Xfinity camera when you add video recording for $9.95 per month.
The most basic Xfinity Home Secure package includes professional monitoring, three door and window sensors, a touchscreen control, motion sensor, and a keypad. Additional services and pieces of equipment can be added on to create a more tailored system. Xfinity is a reliable way to keep an eye on your home with an array of equipment from cameras to pet-friendly motion sensors. While it is pricier than other systems, it may benefit you to bundle the system together with your cable and internet to save money. Although representatives couldn’t tell SecurityNerd exactly how much customers save by bundling, they say the more you buy, the better the price. If you don’t mind contracts and like having your home security and cable bill conveniently bundled together, Xfinity Home could be a good choice.

Best of all, Xfinity offers deals if you bundle their other services with home security. But how do the packages, plans, and pricing compare to other brands on the market? We offer all alarm monitoring plans with NO CONTRACTS. No long-term, multi-year commitments. We do offer pre-pay discounts for annual (15%), six months (5%) or just go month to month. The downsides to Xfinity include less than stellar customer service, long hold times, confusing and inconsistent pricing and limited smart home compatibility. There isn’t a ton of customization or flexibility when compared to a DIY home security company.

The value is certainly there, especially when you factor in their home automation and video monitoring features. But again, we would like to see more security camera options added to their offerings. Upload additional images that were captured by the sensors and not automatically uploaded, such as extra alarm, entry delay or disarm images. Search a 60-day history of events reported by the system, including alarms and other activity, via web or mobile apps. Customize the time frame of the search, and filter by device or event type. The central status will notify you or a family member/relative, neighbor etc. from your Call List if authorities were dispatched.
I was told only my last dealer knew the Installer Code but I was lucky and the code here for my DSC PC1616 worked! This saved a service call to tell me the code that I need to change alarm dealers for monitoring. Capture motion activated images during system alarm events; up to 5 sets of images are automatically uploaded per event. Remotely monitor and control Rain Bird or Rachio irrigation systems from the mobile app. Use a your WIFI or Ethernet port for a rapid connection to our central station.

The move to Xfinity branding was widely thought to be an attempt to distance from this, but it doesn't seem to have helped much. Our SecurityNerd spoke with an Xfinity representative and found that prices can change, and there are often promotions and deals for bundling. Calling and negotiating price seems like a real option here. I'd like to receive promotional offers & other advertisements from Xfinity via email.

Alerts based on user face recognition are also available on select panels only and require the customer to opt in. There is also no opportunity for a doorbell camera or two-way talk with this system. You’ll be able to have a wide variety of home automation options with the exception of doorbell cameras and voice control. If you’re looking for a bargain home security system, you’ll be better off with a DIY company. If you aren’t looking to sign a contract, Xfinity Home is not going to be your best choice. You are required to sign a two year service agreement.
